These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Archiva's website, dashboard, APIs, SDKs, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

Archiva provides an audit and activity logging platform that allows customers to record, store, and review structured audit events. The Service is intended for developers and organizations to log application activity in a secure, project-scoped manner.

Archiva does not provide legal, compliance, or regulatory advice.

2. Accounts and Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your account information.

3. API Keys and Access

Access to the Service is authenticated using project-scoped API keys created through the Archiva dashboard.

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping API keys confidential
  • Limiting access to authorized systems and personnel
  • Rotating or revoking compromised keys promptly

Archiva is not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from compromised credentials.

4. Customer Data and Audit Events

Ownership

You retain all rights to the audit data you submit to the Service. Archiva acts as a data processor for audit data and does not claim ownership over it.

Responsibility for Content

You are solely responsible for the content of audit events you submit, including ensuring that:

  • Data is accurate and lawful
  • Sensitive or personal data is included only when necessary
  • Data collection complies with applicable laws and regulations

Archiva does not review, validate, or moderate audit event content.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes
  • Submit malicious code or payloads
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or security controls
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Access data belonging to other projects or customers

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.

6. Service Availability and Changes

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We may:

  • Modify or discontinue features
  • Introduce usage limits
  • Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability

We aim to minimize disruption but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.

7. Fees and Billing

Some features of the Service may require payment.

You agree to:

  • Pay all applicable fees
  • Provide accurate billing information
  • Maintain a valid payment method

Fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. We may change pricing with reasonable notice.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Audit data is retained according to the retention settings configured for your projects.

You are responsible for configuring retention policies that meet your requirements. Archiva is not responsible for data loss resulting from retention settings chosen by you.

9. Intellectual Property

Archiva retains all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including software, documentation, and branding.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the Service except as expressly permitted.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with or rely on third-party services. Archiva is not responsible for the availability or behavior of third-party services.

Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, be error-free, or be suitable for any particular purpose.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Archiva shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities
  • Issues arising from misuse of the Service or submitted data

Our total liability under these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Archiva in the twelve months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Archiva harmless from claims arising out of:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your submitted audit data
  • Your violation of these Terms or applicable laws

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or other customers.

Upon termination, access to the Service will cease, subject to applicable data retention policies.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Archiva operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted with a new effective date.

Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
